Blend Door Going Crazy After Having Battery Disconnected
« on: April 27, 2015, 09:46:37 PM »

Mine has done this before, but stopped after a min. Its been doing it for 15 min now, blend door making a loud popping sound and it isn't stopping. The kind of sound that makes you want to put your fucking hand through the dash. Real great when you put miles on like me. Drivers side defrost is blowing cold, passenger side hot.

Anybody else had theirs apart for this? How hard was it? Sounds like it needs replacing need to research.

Hmm...after sitting all night it "fixed" itself. Its not making the noise and everything functions as it should. I was doing some reading last night and there was a claim that there was a relearn process you can do so the actuator knows when to stop opening the blend door. I need to look into this some more.

Happened to my power fold mirror. Same popping. Finally did fold on out after a while

Think it finally went full retard. Had the heat on this morning and I was thinking, damn still pretty chilly in here. Reach over to the passenger side vents...blowing cold air even though temp setting was 90 degrees. Looks like I get to pull the dash apart now haha

I did mine on the 08..I have small hands and it was still cramped. The 09 up is worse I hear..even more worse if you have the "fancy" heater..lol

SSI all the way !!!!!!!!!!!

Well that sucks, I've never experienced that problem before would be rather annoying.

Should be fun haha. I hear passenger side is easier than drivers so at least I got that going for me

Wow! Just watched that video from above on this thread. That looks like a lot of work for that actuator. Oh the good old days of the blend door operated by moving linkages.

Still never tackled this project, but it's 95 degrees and blowing heat right now haha. This winter it only blew cold air instead of heat like 2-3 days so figured no big deal. I'll get around to it at some point
